There is no production line at Matthew’s. There is one maker, one bench and one system being built for one professional at a time.
Your commission begins with a conversation about your trade, your daily tools and the movements you repeat hundreds of times. The core architecture stays proven; the pocket layout, carry points and small details are shaped around you.
Five private commissions each month is a deliberate workshop standard. It protects the time, precision and personal attention required to build every system without compromise.

Built beyond the weak points
Every construction decision comes from real professional use—and from strengthening the places ordinary tool bags eventually fail.
No machine stitching
Each seam is formed, tensioned and locked by hand with two needles and heavy 1 mm leatherworking thread. If one stitch is damaged, the surrounding seam does not simply unravel—one reason this construction is made to endure decades of professional use.
Solid copper rivets are hand-set, with double reinforcement at critical load points.
Substantial leather develops a personal patina instead of wearing out anonymously.
Tool placement and pocket organisation are planned around the way you actually work.

The Matthew’s promise
If a structural hand stitch or copper-riveted connection fails under normal professional use, I will repair it. For as long as you own your Matthew’s system.
Normal surface wear and patina are part of the leather’s life. Cuts, burns, chemical damage, modification and misuse are not structural defects. Full written terms are provided before your commission is confirmed.
More than packaging
Every bespoke Matthew’s set arrives in a solid natural-wood storage box, created to protect and present your equipment for years to come. Its interior is finished with a soft, dark velour lining.
Your name is precision-cut into the lining inside the lid, allowing the natural wood beneath to show through. On the outside, the engraved Matthew’s emblem completes its distinctive appearance.

No. The Matthew’s workshop accepts complete system commissions only. This allows the weight, placement and fit to be designed as one working whole.
The core construction is fixed for strength and safety. Within it, tool placement, pocket organisation, selected holder, personal marking and fit are tailored to your work.
Structural hand stitching and copper-riveted connections under normal professional use. Wear, patina, accidental cuts, burns, chemicals, modification and misuse are excluded. Written terms are provided before confirmation.
